Earlier this year, Disciples Seminary Foundation initiated a process to evaluate and envision the future of its Certificate Programs (CMS/DMS).  We anticipated this process would take a year to complete, enabling us to relaunch a revitalized Certificate Program in the spring of 2025.  However, the process has not gone as planned, and we have had to make changes that we trust will ultimately benefit all of our partners—including individuals and congregations throughout the Disciples Regions in the West.  We are currently envisioning the future of our educational programs, including a new Certificate Program.  As before, we remain committed to offering certificate classes in Spanish.

DSF’s new Certificate Program is now planning to relaunch in the fall of 2025.  This will allow time to organize ways to promote the program, including promotion at General Assembly next summer.  The three primary areas of assessment include: financial sustainability, academic goals/outcomes, and accountability to partners (specifically the six Disciples Regions in the West, racial-ethnic constituency groups, and DSF Partner Theological Schools).  The focus remains to expand the program’s reach, to create a program that is more beneficial to more people, and to meet the needs of a changing church.

Many exciting ideas are emerging, including the possibility of establishing a DSF Lay Leadership Academy that would house all of DSF’s educational programs—including our Certificate Program, offering courses in transformative leadership, spiritual formation, entrepreneurial ministry, community organizing, biblical studies, theology, chaplaincy, ethics, etc., as well as the trainings that DSF extends on behalf of its Regional partners, including boundaries trainings, anti-racism/ pro-reconciliation trainings, Disciples History and Polity classes, CEUs, etc.

DSF welcomes your prayers and support in this endeavor. www.dsf.edu
